Lehman College's Undergraduate Readmission Policy

Students may take up to two semesters off (Spring or Fall) without having to readmit to Lehman College.

Students who stopped attending for three semesters (not including Winter or Summer sessions) or more must file a readmit application with the Office of Admissions. To access the Undergraduate Readmission Application, please log in with your CUNYfirst credentials, or click here to create an account. The completed application and a $20.00 non-refundable fee are required; official transcripts of any coursework completed during the absence must also be submitted with the application in order to be evaluated for readmission and transfer of credits. Students who have attended any institution since last attending Lehman must have earned a minimum GPA of 2.3 for any coursework completed during their absence. Students will be readmitted into their most recent academic standing and must settle all holds on their account prior to registration.

Students do not need to file an appeal for readmission unless they were dismissed after their last semester here. Students who were dismissed after the Fall 2023 need to complete an academic intervention and file a dismissal appeal to return. Students who were dismissed prior to Fall 2023 need to file a readmission appeal to return. Please see our Appeals FAQ page for more information. Once an appeal is approved, students must file a readmit application with the Office of Admissions as well.

All students returning after an absence with a GPA below minimum requirements should consider filing an appeal for Reinstatement of SAP. Please see our Appeals FAQ page for more information.
