As a result of the Carman Hall renovation reducing available classroom space, instructors are being asked to rethink how and where teaching happens. This workshop series is designed to turn that constraint into an opportunity, helping instructors explore practical, pedagogically sound approaches to blended, hybrid, and online course design. Whether you're facing a full move online or restructuring around reduced in-person time, these sessions are built to help you make deliberate, student-centered choices, turning a scheduling challenge into a chance to strengthen how your course engages learners.

This session provides an overview of flexible learning modalities, and the key considerations faculty need to weigh as they choose between them. It draws on lessons learned from pandemic-era emergency remote teaching as a foundation for more deliberate decision-making, and grounds the conversation in the factors drive course redesign: student engagement needs, realistic class time availability, and how that time is best used. Faculty will leave with a practical. Faculty will leave with practical tools and a clearer sense of direction for transforming their course.
