In a new opinion piece for Daily Nous, a philosophy blog, Distinguished Professor Naomi Zack proposes a shift from college admissions policies modeled on Affirmative Action to those based on a pluralistic understanding of identity and the concept of belonging. 

"It is time to replace the ideas behind affirmative action and DEI programs in higher education with more progressive concepts that better describe current social reality,” Zack wrote.

The post is based on a chapter in her forthcoming book, Multiplicity, Belonging, and Free Speech in US Higher Education: Thriving through Current Crises (Rowman and Littlefield).
