On Tuesday, April 29, the School of Business welcomed Carla Harris—Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley, bestselling author, and well-known public speaker—for a special student event focused on leadership, career development, and personal growth.
Harris, whose extensive career on Wall Street has earned her national recognition, led a powerful discussion centered around the principles in her book Lead to Win. With over 30 years of experience, Harris shared practical advice on leadership, highlighting that authenticity and dedication are crucial for long-term success.
“You can lead from any seat,” Harris told the audience—one of many memorable takeaways from her talk.
Following the discussion, students had the opportunity to meet Harris one-on-one during a book signing session.
“Carla Harris's career reflects the kind of leadership, vision, and purpose we strive to cultivate in our students,” said Dene Hurley, Dean of the School of Business. “Her experience and insight serve as an inspiration, helping guide students on their path to leadership and success. We are grateful for the opportunity to welcome her to our campus."
As an advocate for diversity and inclusion in corporate spaces, Harris encouraged students to pursue their goals with confidence, resilience, and purpose—and left a lasting impression on their professional journey.
