A new article in The Advocate that examines conflicting scientific opinion on the inclusion of transgender athletes in sports draws extensively on the research of Assistant Professor of Exercise Science D.J. Oberlin. His thorough 2023 review of studies on the topic concluded that, according to available data, "an individual's sex does not determine their success or failure at any athletic event despite the high level of competition."
