Surgical Technician
Program Overview
This 70-hour program explores the vital role of the surgical technologist, covering operating room preparation and intraoperative assistance. You’ll learn:

> Instrument handling
> Patient care under the surgeon’s supervision
Foundational knowledge includes medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control, ensuring effective communication within the surgical team.

> It is not accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), which typically requires a 2 year associate degree credit program.
This program is designed to provide the essential skills and knowledge for entry-level surgical technologists without the extended time commitment of a degree program. However, an associate degree program offers an expanded curriculum including advanced healthcare topics and aligns with higher-level positions with expanded responsibilities.
