Phlebotomy technicians draw blood samples for diagnosis and treatment. They also prepare these samples and maintain equipment and supplies. Positions are available in many inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities as well as labs.

Pay Average in NYC is $22.94 per hour ($59,662 annually).

PREREQUISITES

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Program taught hybrid (online / in-person)
• Basic computer skills are required for online learning

CERTIFICATION

In order to receive a Lehman College program certificate, you must successfully complete all course requirements listed with a grade of C or better. To request your Lehman Certificate, please email ce@lehman.cuny.edu with “Certificate Request” as the subject line.

National Certification: After completing the program students must take the certification exam from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).
