Patient Care Technician
Patient Care Technicians or Patient Care Assoicates provide more direct care to patients, including drawing blood and recording EKGs, than Certified Nursing Aides (CNAs). As a result, CNAs, who become Certified PCTs, have more job opportunities and earn more. PCTs can work in hospitals, doctor’s offices, and many other settings.
Pay Average in NYC is $22.48 per hour ($60,148 annually).
CERTIFICATION
78% of employers require or encourage a certificate for PCT.
