Professor Thomas Ihde (Languages and Literatures), executive director of the CUNY Institute of Irish American Studies, was honored by the Irish Voice newspaper on October 8 as one of the "Irish Education 100." The awards were presented at a reception at the American Irish Historical Society. Professor Ihde was honored along with three other CUNY faculty members and administrators—the president of the CUNY Graduate Center, the provost of Baruch College, and the Irish Studies director at Queens College. Most of the honorees were college administrators and trustees from around the country and included two of the Institute's Advisory Board member, Dympna Bowles and Catherine McKenna.
