Carman C14

This room has two functions, CUNY MDS and HETS.

Stage lights:  the ceiling has lots of spotlights, controlled by a lighting panel (pictures).  These are managed by Migdio Domingues.

1) It is a CUNY MDS facility--Multimedia Distribution System.
This part of the room can be used for local events or for events connecting with similarly equipped rooms at other CUNY campuses. The tables are arranged for optimal use. Pictures.

The panel includes a "whiteboard" and several monitors.
One can show what is on a diskette or .... (CD drive? Zip drive? hard disk?), or a page or object under the document camera.
If connected to another campus, one can also show the audience or a speaker at another campus.

There are cameras that focus on the presenter or on a speaker in the audience--picture.
The presenter has a microphone and a remote control.
Members of the audience can press a button on the microphone in front of them: the presenter can then recognize them, using the control, and the camera will automatically focus on them.

2) It does HETS--
This part of the room can be used for video conferences connecting Lehman with other campuses, such as the U. of Puerto Rico, via satellite. A Lehman audience in C14 can see and hear a lecturer in Puerto Rico.
There are cameras, a control, a document camera. The tables are arranged for optimal use. Pictures.
